Choosing a PoE injector or a PoE switch depends on your specific needs and scenarios. ‌

‌If you only need to connect a small number of PoE devices, then a PoE injector may be a more economical and simple choice.
‌PoE injectors allow you to provide power and data signals to these devices through existing Ethernet cables.
This avoids the need for additional power line layout, which is suitable for remote or difficult-to-reach device installation scenarios.
However, if you need to connect multiple PoE devices? Or want to manage and monitor under a centralized management interface, then a PoE switch would be a better choice. ‌
PoE switches provide multiple Ethernet ports, allowing multiple devices to connect to the network at the same time. And it supports VLAN connection, which improves network security and reliability. In addition, PoE switches can allocate bandwidth according to the priority order of traffic. This can ensure that the main application obtains stable network resources.

For cost and installation and maintenance complexity, active PoE switches generally have higher power output capabilities and support longer transmission distances. But the cost is relatively high, and installation and maintenance may be more complicated. ‌
Passive PoE switches are lower in cost, but have lower power output capabilities. However, it does not support power conversion or enhancement, and is suitable for scenarios with low power requirements.
In summary, if you only use one or a few PoE devices occasionally? A PoE injector may be more suitable.
If you need to connect several devices or want to manage them all in one place, a PoE switch is a better choice. Consider the device's power needs, your budget, and how easy it is to install and maintain when making your choice.
