Common types of network cable include twisted pair and thin coaxial cable. Some standards for network cables: Category 5, Category 5e, Category 6, and Category 6e.

Types Of Materials
Pure copper - this type is the best network cable. Copper has the second smallest resistance under the same circumstances, allowing it to be made into high-quality wire. And it is suitable for POE power supply. The small resistance can avoid the loss of electricity during transmission.

Aluminum Wire - This type is inferior in quality to copper wire. This type of line is suitable for home or small office terminals. A problem for short-distance use is not present. This wire is only good for short-distance POE power supply as it has more resistance than copper wire.

Copper Clad Aluminum Wire - This type has a layer of copper electroplated on the outside the aluminum wire. Because of the skin effect, the conductivity of aluminum wires is improved to a certain extent. This line is only good for short-distance power supply because of its high resistance.

Copper Clad Iron Wire - This type has a layer of copper electroplated on the outside the iron wire. Because of the skin effect, the conductivity of the iron wire is improved to a certain extent. However, this type of line is not suitable for POE power supply because of its large resistance.

Iron core wire - This type has higher resistance. Only suitable for transmission within short distances and does not require high network speed. This type of line is not suitable for POE power supply, also because of the large resistance.

Hybrid wire - Some of the wires in this type are copper and some of the wires are aluminum. It only suits short-distance use and can power supply through POE. However, when making the crystal head, you must make it in strict accordance with the line sequence. If not, the copper wire won't work for power, increasing resistance and impacting power supply effectiveness.

Especially when there are requirements for transmission distance. The thickness and copper content of the core determine the transmission distance. The thicker the core and the higher the copper content, the better the quality.

However, the theoretical longest transmission distance of network cable is 100-150 meters.
